Re: Blood pressure question.

Hi Angie, Yes, my bps did that for a couple of weeks in my second pregnancy before remaining consistently high. I was told that labile pressures are typical as your body tries to cope with and adjust the rising pressures, and then finally fails. Your pressures are still all "ok" though, and 32 weeks...

Re: Why such high BP post partum?

My non-scientific understanding is that when the placenta separates from the body certain hormones (?) are released that can trigger PP PE, and it can take our bodies up to 6 weeks to flush out those hormones. My BP was high after both my births, and more so the second time. It is very important tha...

Re: do YOU think bedrest helps?

In my experience it doesn't make the high blood pressure problems go away, but bedrest for a time kept my bp lower than sitting and moving about. I was on bedrest for the last 7 weeks of my first pregnancy and most of my second, but still developed severe PE in both and gave birth to IUGR babies. Wh...

I'm so glad to hear that they're taking such good care of you and your little one, and that you've had so much good news. I had high blood pressure from 22/23 weeks in my first pregnancy, and proteins of over 900g from around 27 weeks - and I made it to 34 weeks (when I was delivered for proteins of...

Re: nathan nicholas born 3/10/11 via c-section 32 weeks

Congratulations on the birth of Nathan! I'm so glad he is doing well considering all you both have been through! Becoming a mom of a preemie is tough. My first was born under similar circumstances, she was whisked away right after birth, I couldn't see her for more than 24 hours, and when I did I fe...

Re: Back in NICU ***UPDATE

Dear Laura, I just wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you and Carter, very much. I'm so sorry to hear that he's back in the NICU. You didn't need to have to go through this! It sounds very encouraging that he is eating, pooing and looking well. I don't know about babies, but SSRI withdrawa...

Re: new here with a few questions...

Please don't worry about bothering anyone. PE is a very serious condition and they want you to be in touch if you're getting such high numbers and not feeling well. Please do call at least to let them know the BP numbers you've been getting. L&D should be able to tell you then if they want you to co...

Re: Contractions when to worry?

Hi,
I never got to the contractions stage, but wanted to send you best wishes. Can you call your hospital to ask for advice? I always felt it was better to get checked out when I had doubts than to wait at home worrying...
How exciting that your body is getting ready!
Take care, Sush
