Re : Pregnant again

I'm having the quad screen done specifically for the "pre-e" test. I didn't want to have that test done so i'm not even going to find out the results of the actual screen.

Since i've started taking my BP at home i've had no issues, so I hope it stays that way :)

Re : Pregnant again

<t>I think I jinxed myself when I posted my first message. I had my first high-risk OB appointment that day and it didn't go well. I was nervous which I think made my BP really high (154/100).....so weekly appointments, monthly u/s, and biweekly bloodwork from this point on. He kinda threw my VBAC d...

Pregnant again

<t>I'm 15 weeks pregnant with my second child and even though I have been trying really hard not to worry about my pre-e risk I still am.<br/> I developed pre-e at 27 weeks with DS and somehow managed to hang on until 37 where I developed HELLP during delivery. Re : low platelets and epidural/spinal

My platelets dropped to 85000 while in labour so I ended up with a c-section under general anaesthetic. The hardest part for me was not being allowed to see my son or husband right after. It was a scary situation but the safest option for me at the time.

My son was born at 37+1. He had a mild case of jaundice but still got to come home with me.

Joey is going as a clown fish lol. He'll only be three months old so dressing him up is more for my enjoyment than his lol.

Re : Can I see a Midwife instead of an OB?

<t>I'm in Surrey too :). I was transfered to a group of regular OB's from my family doctor just before I was diagnosed. As soon as I was given the official pre-e dx at 27 weeks they transfered me to a high-risk OB (in his own office) and a MFM specialist. The group of OB's wanted nothing to do with ...

Re : anyone get labetalol headaches?

I had those.... they sucked and made me not one to take my pills (I know bad idea). Nothing got rid of them for me. Luckily I only had to take Labetelol for 6 weeks post partum because I got the headached the whole time....
