Re : How to get him to gain weight

<t>My son tended to only do one thing at at time, if he gained weight for a month then he didn't grow in height or vice versa. Definitely ask your ped and look at his growth curve to see if it's a consistent shape for him. My preemie son loved avocadoes and scrambled eggs around that age. I also roa...

Re : Expectant dad needs info about preeclampsia

<t>I just wanted to add something about the '+2' reading ... that's usually from a urine dipstick test. The readings, I think, usually are none, trace, +1, +2, +3 and maybe something greater. It's just a snapshot, though, that can be highly influenced by how well hydrated or not the mother is. Accor...

Re : Ear infections - update

<t>This has to be so hard on you, too. It's never fun to have a sick child. I don't have any experience with tubes and my own children, but speaking as an adult who lived through AWFUL ear infections for years and finally had some tubes put in at 26 years of age just to get some relief during a real...

Re : Sleeping meds while Pregnant?

FWIW, Tylenol PM is just regular Tylenol with the Benadryl ingredients added (it's what makes you tired). I found that out before I had a script for anxiety meds and was told to take that to help sleep at night.

Re : Unsure what to think

<t>Sepsis can definitely cause your son's O2 requirements to flucuate dramatically. Hopefully his docs will have done a culture or decided to treat him regardless if they suspect he's battling something. Lung maturity (or the lack thereof) is really difficult for micropreemies and you'll likely find...

Re : Im New and I have 1 Question

<t>Welcome! Has your OB done any bloodwork on you? I haven't experienced the pain myself, but when I was postpartum with my second son, my liver enzymes were elevated and the only reason they knew that is b/c they took blood. I know it's hard to do when you feel resistance from your nurses/docs, but...

Re : Zoloft and Pregnancy

<t>I just started Zoloft in this pregnancy at 15 weeks. I was told that Zoloft is one of the safer/more experience with SSRI medications during pregnancy. From what I read (and was told) there may be a slightly higher risk of birth defects (than the general population) when taken in the first trimes...

Re : Food issues with my almost 2 yr old

<t>Hi Patti,<br/> <br/> Your experience sounds very similar to mine with my oldest (26 weeker now 6). Like the other ladies have said with their kids and you described with Ryan, Jacob had a very limited diet regardless of what the other kids were eating around him. I'll actually admit I used to off...

Re : Pregnant again and having symptoms...

<t>I hope you are able to meet with your doctor(s) to find out what is going on and make an informed decision. I know our situations are different, but have you considered the possibility that you might be experiencing some anxiety, too, and that could be causing some odd symptoms? Sounds like you h...

Re : Feeding Q

<t>Are you feeding formula or breastmilk? My 26 weeker had a definite preference for one formula over another. He would only drink Nestle Good Start (of course, I think we went through about 4 others before I found that one).<br/> <br/> With my FT son, he decided he no longer wanted to drink from a ...
