Re: surrogacy

My MFM suggested it after my placental abruption last year. I still don't know if it's a viable option for us, because it is very expensive. There was a poster here for some time on the boards that was able to have twin boys via her cousin. You can google her blog (it hasn't been updated in a while,...

Am I crazy?

This month I started seriously considering giving it one last try. I will be 34 this coming wednesday, and if I do decide to try again I'd like to start TTC when I turn 35 in one year (to give my body enough time to hopefully heal). I'd also like to go see THAT doctor in Seattle. I went to see him b...

My post-partum appointment

I had my post partum appointment with my peri this past monday, and we discussed the placental pathology report from my abruption with Janelle. She said the report said there was extensive damage indicative of an auto-immune disorder at the vascular level. She ordered the underlying disorder tests a...

Re: How is a blood transfusion done if needed?

I just had several transfusions and they did them through the IV. I had two IV sites, one in each wrist. One site for fluids & meds, one site for the blood products. Depending on what you need & how much, one bag of blood might take about 30-45 minutes to infuse.

Re: Not sure?

We had a portrait done of our daughter Elissa (born at 25wks), from her hospital pictures. That portrait is displayed in our living room. We plan on doing the same for our second daughter Janelle (born at 24 wks). That might be something you could do?

Only made it to 24wks, 3 days this time :(

It's somewhat of a long story, I'll try to shorten it a bit. On Tuesday the 20th I had a growth ultrasound. Blood flow was good, BP was great, growth was a little behind by two weeks. My peri said she felt something was off, but wasn't sure what. She scheduled another growth ultrasound in 3 weeks, a...

Re: what bp #'s should a person call in on?

My peri told me to call L&D with anything over 140/90 since my normal BP with meds is pretty low. I'm 24 weeks today and I've already been in twice for BP spikes. Once at 21 wks, and once last week. Each time I go in they draw the PE labs and adjust my meds. With my last pregnancy I went in 3 times ...
