Re : Silly Ques, I know but if my BPs are down ...

<t>Your situation sounds very similar to mine. My pressures were labile in the beginning and eventually I had to go on bp medications. I was swelling severely and was diagnosed with pe at 22 weeks. Since that time I have been on bed rest and my swelling is almost completely gone, my bloodwork has be...

How long can my placenta last?

<t>Last week I was told that my placenta is a grade 3 which, from what I understand, is the worst. I am now 28 weeks along and am wondering how long my placenta can last and still nourish the baby. I'm not sure what percentile the baby is in for size but, the peri says that she is growing normally a...

Re : Induction and Delivery

<t>I would be very careful about going against the advice of the peri. I'm assuming that this is your first experience with pe. However, this is not your peris first time. PE can progress very quickly, sometimes within hours, and the longer you are pregnant the longer you and your baby are at risk. ...

Re : 2 questions about meds and aspirin

I am currently taking 400 mg of labetalol 2x a day although, my bp is hard to control. I don't know much about other bp medications. I am currently taking low dose aspirin as well as heparin to thin my blood. Congratulations on your new pregnancy, and I hope things go well for you this time.

Re : Dealing with the fear?

<t>I know exactly how you feel. I even have dreams about it. One of the ways that I deal with it is to set a limit on myself for certain things. I will not take my bp more than 2x a day unless I have a high reading. Set a limit and stick with it. I am currently on bedrest and have lots of time to ob...

<t>Just to chime in about your bp monitor, most of the women on here who have an Omron have been very happy with its accuracy. I have an Omron that I am very pleased with. If you want to check it, take it with you to your next doctor's appointment and check the machines reading against the reading t...

Re : I'm New.. and very scared

<t>Hi Elena,<br/> <br/> I'm glad to see another AZ girl. I live in Surprise, and have had preeclampsia with all 3 of my pregnancies. I know it is scary but, it sounds like your doctor is being aggressive by bringing in other specialists to consult with. Just curious who your doctor is and who the pe...

Re : PE 2nd time around but very different?

<t>Preeclampsia can be different with each pregnancy. With my first, I started showing signs around 30 weeks which included high bp, protein in my urine, elevated liver enzymes, etc. With my 2nd, I started having high bp around 14 weeks but did not develop the other symptons until 34-35 weeks and ki...

Re : Another question. Loss of appetite?

<t>Amanda I don't know how far along you are but, it is possible that your loss of appetite is a natural part of pregnancy. If you are in the last trimester of your pregnancy it could be because your expanding uterus is crowding your insides. Towards the end of each of my pregnancies I had less of a...
