Re : Can I really blame PE/Hellp????

<t>I know what you mean. During my last pregnancy I had a TIA on top of the PE/HELLP. Sometime I during the pregnancy I developed tremors that never went away. I had my gall bladder removed. I have chronic hypertension and hypothyroidism. I too feel like this is the chicken and the egg. Which came f...

Re : New to BP meds - questions

<t>I think that the bp meds work better for some than others. Sometimes it is just a matter of getting on the right med or group of meds. I think that most doctors would still consider you to have PIH even if your bp is controlled with medication. If you started to have protein in your urine then yo...

Re : new to this forum

<t>I was one who didn't really understand PE until I had it. I had severe PE and HELLP with my first pregnancy. I went on to have another pregnancy with severe PE but, made it further into my pregnancy. The third one I delivered at 33 weeks just like the first but, I never developed HELLP again.<br/...

Re : Just diagnosed with preeclampsia, UPDATE!!!

<t>In my not-a-doctor opinion your labs look good to me. The BUN test is used to help measure kidney function. A high test would be an indication of kidney impairment but, since yours is low it is probably not something to be concerned with. The same is true for the ALT. I don't know about the ALP t...

Re : Labetalol affects

<t>I had fetal growth ultrasounds every 4 weeks until I hit 28 weeks. Then they added the BPPs and NSTs. They will not do the BPPs or NSTs until around 28 weeks because that is the point when the baby is able to complete the components of the test.<br/> <br/> Also, I took labetalol with 2 of my preg...

Re : abdominal pain

I would guess that it is related to your surgery. I know that I had some stabbing pains after my c-sections. If you are concerned check with your doctor.

Re : Clotting disorder ?

Yep. With each pregnancy it was something different too. The first one was the lupus anticoagulant as well as cardiolipin antibody. The second pregnancy, it was low protein c, and the third was low protein s. I have been ok since pregnancy.

Re : Do you think preterm labor can accelerate PE/HELLP

<t>My opinion is that it is the other way around, that the onset of PE/HELLP can set of pre-term labor. I think that often times our bodies know something is wrong, even if it has not shown up in labs or bp. In my mind it is possible that the chain reaction had already started and that is what cause...
