Tammy,
How are you doing? I hope your BP came down or is behaving on meds.

Re: BP going up and then calms

When my blood pressure starting jumping around during my second pregnancy, my MFM told me I was either headed for preeclampsia again, headed for chronic hypertension later in life, or both. However it was several weeks of higher readings before I started having proteinuria and wound up diagnosed wit...

Re: The fear is real

I'm sorry to hear you are having a rough time (and had such a rough pregnancy). My sister-in-law suffered from hyperemesis, and was even hospitalized for it during her first pregnancy. If she hadn't found a med combo that helped her with the vomiting I doubt she would have had more than one kiddo. C...

Re: New LDA recommendations

I'm guessing they changed it to 12 weeks since aspirin may raise the risk of miscarriage in early pregnancy for some women. However it may also help us preeclamptics as you pointed out. I was told to stop taking it at 36 weeks in my last pregnancy. I wish I had a better answer for you, that sounds l...

Re: Pregnancy after preeclampsia

Congratulations on your pregnancy, and welcome to the forums! I'm afraid I can't remember exactly when the extra ultrasounds started my last pregnancy, but hopefully someone else does. Plus my schedule might have been different anyway since I had some extra ultrasounds scheduled to check growth sinc...

Re: Pregnant again after early term pre-e

Congratulations, and welcome to the forums! You could ask your OB about the possibility of taking baby aspirin: https://www.uspreventiveservicestaskforce.org/Page/Document/UpdateSummaryFinal/low-dose-aspirin-use-for-the-prevention-of-morbidity-and-mortality-from-preeclampsia-preventive-medication If...

Re: Just given Diagnosis by Voicemail! I cant get a hold of Dr!!!

So sorry to hear you have been diagnosed with preeclampsia. I was told to run any new symptoms by my doc once I was diagnosed. So if the swelling increases or moves up into face and/or hands, you experience additional rapid weight gain, or if you have a bad headache unrelieved by Tylenol I would def...

Re: Not "diagnosed" but having every symptom--what to do?!

I'm glad you had a good talk with the MFM today, and that you have frequent appoinments set up. I know it always makes me feel better when I felt like my doctor is on the same page and is taking my concerns seriously. Are you monitoring your pressures or doing kick counts at home? Good luck, I hope ...

Re: Not "diagnosed" but having every symptom--what to do?!

How did the appointment go today? I am wondering if maybe they are blaming the swelling/pressures on your underlying kidney issue (maybe due to increased demands of pregnancy)? I know I would be worried with those symptoms. I would want to talk to the OB and/or MFM and ask why (or why not) they aren...

Re: Just Diagnosed

My OB always wanted me to run every new symptom by her. If you do call I would make sure to mention you had same pain in hospital when you were being evaluated and the nurses weren't concerned (and then maybe your OB can give you a better guidance of what type of pain they would want you to go in fo...
