Re : Guns in the house
<t>I completely and totally agree. After the year I have went through with a second grade boy killing his twin brother accidently while playing around with a loaded gun, I will be completely stubborn on the no guns unless locked up with no access to the kids. Accident happen and you need to keep Kad...

Re : enamel hypoplasia
<t>Wow...I didn't realize any of this. Alyssa has horrible teeth and we are pretty vigilant with the brushing and flossing. No matter what we do, we still end up with cavities. She also has low enamel on her teeth. I don't think the dentist believes us when we tell him that she didn't take a bottle ...

Re : New mom of micropreemie
<t>Hi Recca,<br/> I really dont have alot to add to what the others have said. My first was also 29 weeks and was only 1 lb 9 oz. Because of feeding issues in the beginning, she lost down to 1 lb. They had to take her feeds very slowly until her digestive system matured some little by little. We had...

Re : 60 day NICU stay costs
<t>We had an 87 day stay and the NICU bill just for the hospital stuff was about 500K. The doctor bills were an additional 300K. I remember laughing because the itemized bill had a charge for each hour of oxygen. She was on oxygen every day until she left! The copy of the bill was like 100 pages lon...

That is wonderful news. What a roller coaster Alice has been on the last couple weeks. I'm so happy they are doing better now.

Re : the economy finally hits us...hard
<t>Oh Kara....I am so sorry to hear that. Everyone seems to be having so much difficulty right now. We have been lucky enough that although the paycut was a shock and terrifying at first, it wasn't so big that we aren't able to make some adjustments and still be okay. I feel so bad for so many peopl...

Re : New study on preemies and high blood pressure
Our peds office routinely checks BP starting at 3 years. Alyssa and Ty have actually been on the low side of the range (which I can't really remember what they told me was normal). But low BP actually runs on my side of the family...high BP on hubby's side of the family. Interesting to watch.

Re : the economy finally hits us...hard
<t>Thanks. We are very happy that he still has a job. This was his company's way of being able to keep everyone and not do layoffs. So in a way, at least the company did find a way of keeping everyone. Of course, no new hiring for awhile. We are very lucky in that way and to know that my job is very...
