Re : very high bp's...looking for advice

Amanda,

Thanks so much. I keep worrying about so many things, then I opened up this forum and see your message and your beautiful little girl (she is something else, what a sweetheart!) and I know it's all going to be worth it in the end.

Re : very high bp's...looking for advice

Hi. I am writing this from the hospital. They are doing lots of tests, and changing my medication to be sure the BP gets under control. THank you all for your support and I will keep you updated. I start Metropolol instead of labetolol in a couple of hours. Thanks again for your support.

Re : very high bp's...looking for advice

I will talk to the doc I'm seeing tomorrow AM and ask her to have me see the Peri for the blood pressure issues. Thanks...the story about the mom on here who lost her little girl due to high blood pressures really scared me and got me thinking more seriously about how I should approach it.

Re : very high bp's...looking for advice

<t>Thanks everyone. I did end up going to the Dr today. I told her I switched it to 300mg 2x day and she upped it to 400 3x a day. I do however have a feeling the labetalol isn't going to do the trick, it's kind of a more mild bp drug I guess (maybe that's why it ends in LOL...like, yeah, right!) I ...

very high bp's...looking for advice

<t>Hi everyone. I had PE with my two other kids. First one 11 years ago, was put on mag (horrible) but there was no bed rest (I was overdue). My ds, 4 years ago, was born 5 weeks early due to PE. I was on modified bed rest for the last couple months of pregnancy. <br/> <br/> Okay, now I'm pregnant w...

Re : Chronic Hypertension and pregnancy

<t>Kathy, Wow, I can't believe that about your former coworker dying from a stroke... No wonder you're scared...that must've really hit home for you. Especially with everything that happened that affected your liver function. I like how Sabrina has said a couple times that her ob said it's normal to...

Re : Chronic Hypertension and pregnancy

<t>Sabrina,<br/> Thanks for the reply...I can't believe they told you after for FIRST not to have any more! Actually after my first, it was so bad I didn't want any more. All through labor (Altho finally ended up with c-sec anyway) I kept telling my husband, "I'm never having another one, EVER!" Eve...

Re : Chronic Hypertension and pregnancy

<t>Hi Laura - thanks for the reply! I'm in Milwaukee WI. I went to a great OB practice, I just haven't been back for preconception counseling b/c I don't want to hear the dreaded "don't do it." Which is not so mature, I admit, but emotionally, it's where I am right now. I, too, have read that when a...

Re : Chronic Hypertension and pregnancy

<t>Wow, can I just say that you ladies have totally made my day...my week! When I had my 2nd baby several weeks early I was told that with my hx of htn that I shouldn't have any more kids. They were actually encouraging me to get a tubal with the C-section! I didn't b/c, in my heart of hearts, and b...
