Re: Should I let my 3 mth (2 mth adj) sleep through the nig

If she's gaining consistently then let her sleep :) If she's gone from waking 2 hourly to a 7 hour gap, I'd guess she wasn't waking out of hunger, but habit. If you know she normally lets you know when she's hungry I wouldn't stress...but keep an eye on her weight gain just in case. At this age I'd ...

Re: NERVOUS ABOUT DELIVERY!!

My first delivery was an emergent c-section under GA. My dr was happy for a trial of labour with my second pregnancy had everything been going well and I started labour naturally. As it turned out I had to deliver at 33 weeks so a repeat c-section it was. The anaesthetist preferred to use a spinal s...

Re: Does paternity contribute to pe?

Thanks Heather :) It wasn't any of those and I can't find my consent forms...I don't think it was a PE specific trial...something to do with IUGR, PPROM, PE and preterm delivery. It was current during 2005 and it was my PE history that made me eligible. Lucky for me, as no one expected me to get PE ...

Re: Does paternity contribute to pe?

I know this was only bumped from the never ending spam we keep getting...but Prof. Dekker was my dr with my second pregnancy, and I participated in a research trial at the time...does anyone (Caryn, Heather) know if it's possible to find out what any results were (just out of interest)? It was some ...

Re: 22 Weeks, BP up - any positive experiences

Good luck at the hospital. Don't be surprised if the CTG (NST) is a flop...22 weeks is very early. If they're not happy with the tracing they should do a scan while you're there. Let us know how you go.

Re: High bp after activity

I'd go back to the dr, explain that although your bp may be great when laying down, realistically you're not able to rest at home and therefore your bp is elevated a great deal of the time. I would also ask them to document your request and their refusal of a 24 hour urine test in your notes. I'd al...

Re: Hi need advice

Jasmine, pregnancy in the UK is generally managed by midwives and overseen by a consultant if need be, same as it is here in Australia (under the public system). That being said, I am surprised that you (Sami) have not been seen by a consultant given your history, even if it's just to decide that yo...

Re: Anyone planning a home birth?

We had only ever discussed having 2 kids...but it did make me decide to get my tubes tied afterward to make it final. Normally they wouldn't do a TL on someone under 35 in the public system as you cannot get a reversal (unless you go private) but I did not have to convince them that it was the right...

Re: Anyone planning a home birth?

Congrats :) HB is not something I ever considered but I did consider using the birthing suite located at the hospital which works just like a freestanding birth centre, but as soon as I got a PE dx that was no longer an option. With my second they wouldn't even let me see the midwives for prenatal c...

Ditto Trish also. You are an amazing Mum, and don't let yourself think otherwise!
