Re: Procardia. Getting nervous

I've seen other posters mention that Procardia provides a nice "2-fer", BP control and reduction in contractions. I was on it post-partum for about 6 weeks (well, it in the hospital and the generic subsequently). It was wonderfully efficacious for me and the only side-effect was a very metallic tast...

Re : 4 years ago~

<t>We share a day! I have to use October 13th because that was the evening that my sudden-onset symptoms got me up off my couch (not before I got to see the opening sketch on SNL though) and to the ER. Actually, I really don't remember anything after entering the triage area, not even Lucy's deliver...

Re : Baby's kidney problems and mixed up emotions

<t>Kidney problems in very young babies are most often caused by anatomical abnormalities. It's tough on her, and she sounds like a little darling. However, it's pretty hard on you too and you sound like you are taking waaay too much blame upon yourself. I doubt very much that your preeclampsia is c...

Re : Scientists find cause of preeclampsia

Caryn's NHS link is excellent. Not only does it summarize the research, but it also evaluates the strength of some of the newspaper-derived claims regarding the significance of the findings. If only there was more material like that available!

Re : Scientists find cause of preeclampsia

<t>What I think is interesting about this particular study is that the researchers were trying very hard to understand global mechanisms involved in causing hypertension, not specifically pre-eclampsia. So their research focus was on these quite well-understood effector molecules trying to figure ou...

Re : Technical PE question

<t>Also, we don't yet know what might happen to our cardiovascular status once we hit menopause and lose the cardioprotective effects of estrogen. So, I think a legitimate question for future studies is whether the "complete recovery" observed in say the 5 years subsequent to the vascular insult of ...

Audrey, you and I can be buddies. I remember when I had a metabolism but I don't now!!

I want to lose about 10 lbs in an effort to spare my aching knee and preserve my ability to dance.. now that I'm back on pointe. I resent how hard I have to work to make any progress at all.

Re : Caryn I need your idea-or anyone else re allergies

<t>Jean, BV is currently understood to represent an altered microflora of the genital tract. Essentially, the balance of all the bacteria and fungi that live there (and there are MANY) is thrown out of whack and there is an overgrowth of some species, normally squeezed out by the lactobacilli there....
