Re: MTHFR

Thanks so much for your input, guys. It's so hard to know the right thing to do. I guess doctors don't even know the "right" thing to do so it's even worse. From the research I've done with Lovenox, the only real risks are to the mother right? Risk of bleeding if injured or something? I've heard so ...

Re: MTHFR

Thanks for you input! They are going to check my homeocystine levels today. This is all so confusing! I've been doing a lot of research and from what I can tell, a lot of doctors don't even agknowledge the mutation and then others do. I guess it all depends on the doctor. For me, I feel like the pot...

MTHFR

So, I got my blood work back. All of it was fine except my B-12 was low and C-reactive protein was high. The MTHFR showed two gene mutations: C677T/C677T Do any of you know anything about this? It said I would need to be on Folgard. Do you know what dosage? What about Lovenox during my next pregnanc...

Re: New here with a question...

With a 24 hour protein that high... I would worry. I'm not sure of the check list for diagnosing pre-e but with your kidneys spilling THAT much protein, that means they are stressed and your kidneys could begin to fail (in my not-doctor opinion). Even though your BP isn't high (that's great). The sw...

Re: Questions for the chronic hypertensives

I think the max dose of Labetaolol is 2400mg a day (I think). So, you're pretty far from that. But if your BP isn't well controlled on that, then trying something different may be beneficial. You definitely need to get those pressures down. When I met with the MFM, she told me that I could take the ...

Re: Questions for the chronic hypertensives

I'm chronic hypertensive and I have been since I was 17. I also have tachycardia, so I have to be on a beta-blocker to slow my heart rate. Labetolol is similar to what I was on before because it is a form of a beta-blocker. What were you taking before pregnancy? Maybe you just need a different medic...

Re: blood clot in placenta?

Thanks guys! There were a lot of infarcts (sp?) as well as a significant amount of "Syncytial knots" in the placenta. Does anyone have any insight on those? All of thise is so confusing! I want to make sure nothing is missed. I would feel MUCH better if my doctor would agree to Lovenox, simple becau...

blood clot in placenta?

I had my daughter last April at 29w1d due to severe pre-e. After the pathology came back on the placenta, my doctor informed me that there was 20% placental abruption. Looking at the report further, I noticed it said there was a blood clot on the maternal side of the placenta. I'm quite confused...w...

Re: maybe a bump in the road?

Remember, those ultrasounds aren't 100% accurate with measurements. Unless you get more than one ultrasound that shows growth restriction, don't get too worried yet. Not to mention, that doesn't sound like too bad of a weight for a 27 weeker. My DD was 2lbs 11oz at 29w and they didn't say anything a...

Re: What was your tip-off?

My tip-off was high BP and generally not feeling well and headaches. I had horrible pitting edema from about 24 weeks on and they just told me it was normal swelling. I couldn't even wear shoes. I was SO swollen every where. My face started to swell the week the pre-e was discovered though. I also s...
