Re: First chink in the armor... maybe

I'm glad you're almost 35 weeks! I think you will be able to make it full term. Just try not to worry and take care of yourself. Definitely take it easy and stay hydrated!

Re: feeding issues with solid food

Thanks for the replies ladies, it really helps to hear some different opinions/experiences! My daughter initially was seeing both a physical therapist (she had issues with her flexor strength due to not getting that last trimester of being snuggled up tight in the womb) and a speech pathologist (for...

feeding issues with solid food

Hi everyone, My daughter was born at 29+6 weeks and weighed 2 lb 10 oz. She was in the NICU for 7 weeks and was on the ventilator, cpap, feeding tubes, etc. She is now 13 months old and doing really well on growth (~30% for weight, 95+% for height), but is having difficulty transitioning from formul...

Re: Anyone with GD?

The dietician in the diabetes clinic who met with me after I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes told me that women who get gestational diabetes are at an increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes, and that sometimes their diabetes never goes away after delivery and simply becomes type 2. So ...

Re: Anyone with GD?

Do you have any risk factors for increased chance of GD (does anybody in your family have diabetes, are you overweight, etc.)? If you do, you should be able to get an early screening, although as angieb points out if you have diabetes this early in your pregnancy it is probably Type 2 (which usually...

Re: Is there a natural hike in BP in the 3rd trimester?

After my c-section last year the nurses urged me to take pain meds because they said pain can elevate your blood pressure and my BP was still really high, so I took them, even though I didn't feel that I needed them that much (I have a pretty high pain tolerance and worry about taking meds that can ...

Re: Is there a natural hike in BP in the 3rd trimester?

My OB and my nephrologist both told me there is an increase in blood pressure in the third trimester, but didn't tell me how much I should expect. +10 for diastolic sounds like a lot, but I really don't know how much increase is considered normal. I would definitely ask my doctor about it, but I ask...

Re: non stress test & amniotic fluid level US

Thanks for all the replies! I am very glad she is a proactive doctor, because I know some of them aren't. I guess I will look on the bright side and think of it as a planned rest twice a week. I hope they let me bring my kindle, because otherwise I might fall asleep, and I don't know if that's allow...
