Re: Ugggh!!!

My 33 weeker did not have severe complications, but it was very hard leaving her every night. Some of her nurses were great and some were not. That is amazing your SIL says they had a good nicu experience. Did they have option to stay 24/7? I would have been so thankful to be able to stay with my d...

Re: Ugggh!!!

It depends on who's defining 'full-term'. There has been a push to label 34-37 weekers as 'late pretermers'. I was going by ACOG guidelines, which state that labor that begins before 37 weeks is considered "preterm." http://www.acog.org/~/media/For%20Patients/faq087.pdf?dmc=1&ts=20120522T2208028709...

Re: Ugggh!!!

Generally babies born at 37 weeks are not automatically taken to the NICU (that is considered full term), so your baby definitely had issues that required NICU care. It is difficult to say whether those issues were due to an early induction or due to your hypertension/preeclampsia. It is quite possi...

Re: The waiting game :(

I'm so sorry for your loss. I didn't lose my baby, who was born later than yours, but I did get pregnant again within 6 months (it was close to 5 months later). My pregnancy wasn't really planned, and I still had residual blood pressure issues. I'm almost 36 weeks now and my blood pressures have bee...

5 lb 12 oz sounds great! 36 weeks is so close to full term. I really hope you can hold out another week, but if you have to evict baby sister now I think you will be just fine. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Re: How often should ultrsounds be done when High risk?

Here's a list of the ultrasounds my doctor has done/is doing. I am currently 35 weeks 4 days. I became pregnant again within six months of delivering my daughter early due to severe PE. My blood pressure was under control at that point, but only with medication. I also developed gestational diabetes...

Re: Chronic HTN

Hi ellemoon, My story isn't exactly the same as yours, but I did have a very negative OB experience like yours after my daughter was born. I delivered my daughter last year, about a month before you delivered yours, at 29 weeks 6 days. I was diagnosed at 29 weeks 3 days at my regular monthly checkup...

Re: Opinions Please- Creeping Blood Pressure!

Since I started the GI diet for my gestational diabetes my blood pressure has gone down a few points. It's not a no-carb diet, but my carbs are evenly spaced throughout the day and all come from whole grains, beans, or fruit. I have read that low-sugar diets can help blood pressure, but I don't thin...
