Re: C-section this afternoon at 33 weeks due to PE
Congratulations on the arrival of your little boy, and congratulations on making it to 33 weeks! Those steriod shots REALLY helped my daughter, she was born at 36 weeks and was completely fine and needed no NICU time, they think it was due to the steriods. Over 4 pounds is a GIANT to the NICU staff!

Re: Question re: heart palpaltations
An update on my palpitations, I started getting them again REALLY bad and I got an EKG, blood work, and chest xray, all normal. Then my doc prescribed me Toprol, a beta blocker, because he thinks my anxiety is causing them, and they stopped again. The beta blocker has slowed my heart rate and stoppe...

Re: When will my bp return to normal
Mine went back to normal after a few weeks, but it was still high-normal just like before pregnancy, so my doctor now has me on a beta-blocker called toprol which is AMAZING and my average BP now is about 120/75.

Re: update on my baby
I can understand that...when you are recovering from birth it is so hard to care for a baby. My daughter wouldn't nurse for weeks, so I had to pump, and she also had the jaundice issues...in the NICU someone else is caring for your baby and making sure they are healthy, but when you bring them home,...

Re: What is the difference between severe and mild pre-e?
Hmmm...well my blood pressure pre pregnancy is in the 130s/80s, that is just what I run, so having an average BP of 150/90 isn't really THAT big a deal for me, and I only had 400 mg of protein in the urine, I also had no neurological symptoms or any other symptoms of organ failure, no upper gastic p...

Re: We've made our decision...
Alexa - It really has brought on a feeling of peace to make a decision. I just want to have an idea of where my life is going to go, and where I see our family in 5 years, etc. Before I had my daughter, I taught preschool and really enjoyed it, so I am thinking that once she goes to school I would e...

What is the difference between severe and mild pre-e?
I had always thought my pre-e was mild, but now I am not so sure. The highest my BP got was 190/120, however normally it was in the 150s/90s. The highest 24 hour urine protein count was 430. I was officially diagnosed with pre-e at 35 weeks and a few days, but my blood pressure had been creeping up ...

Re: well today's the day!!!
Oh my gosh! Congratulations! Happy Birthday Baby! I TOTALLY understand your fears. When I had my daughter in February, I had gone in for a MFM appointment that morning and was told that I needed to deliver that day. It wasn't an emergency, but was not planned. So I wasn't prepared for the c-section ...

Re: Hello
I was rereading my response and realized that I might have been incredibly insensitive. I didn't mean to sound like you could have done something differently to help your pregnancy go better! I don't think that at all. I was meaning to question your prenatal care and the method that your doctors use...

Re: Health Problems Long After Preeclampsia
I have had some issues since having my daughter in February, however they are more anxiety related and the physical symptoms spring from that. My BP has returned to normal, except when I am very anxious it will go up. Normally it is in the 130s/80s sitting up and 110s/70s laying down. The other nigh...
