superimposed PET versus severe pre-e

This was on my d/c summary:
"ch HTN with superimposed PET, induced 10 days after steroids, mag. OP, foley induction"

Is it less severe than severe pre-e? Just sorting this out in my mind. What would the OP stand for?

Re: Making the call to deliver baby?

My situation was similar to yours. I delivered at 33 weeks when I was admitted for the third time. First time my bp was 190/100 at home, 172/99 on admission, and the spot protein check was 463. The 24 protein results were only 270. I was given mag., reglan for the headache, and steroid shots for a p...

Re: We have to supplement :(

Having to supplement is so hard, I remind myself to be thankful that we have formula available when we don't have enough milk.

I use the Gerber Good Start and she does much better than when she was on NeoSure. I boil the water before mixing it with the formula.

Re: I really need some hope....

Yes, I have! I had gestational diabetes during my pregnancy in 2008. It never "went away" as the reg. OB said it would so as soon as I got pregnant again I went straight to the mfm who put me back on insulin when I was only 5 weeks pregnant. I did develop pre-e with my pregnancy in 2011 and delivere...

Re: Trying after HELLP at 40?

I'd take the opinion from a mfm over a reg. OB any day.

I had my youngest three months ago at the age of 46. Was admitted to the hospital to r/o pre-e at 30 weeks and we made it to 33 weeks before having to deliver. I'd do it all over again for this little sweetie!

Re: Just diagnosed 27 Weeks

You are a VERY smart mom to get yourself closer to a NICU. Especially in light of your early diagnosis.

Re: So angry and upset

I'm so very sorry for your loss of Molly. Did you deliver at a hospital with a nicu ? At such an early gestational age it still might not have helped. The OB I went to for 17+ years (and raved about) really dropped the ball in two of my pregnancies. I was so angry I didn't bother going back for the ...

Re: How impotant to go to MFM?

Is your reg. OB on staff at a hospital with a nicu? If not, you may wind up having someone else delivering if you have to deliver early. Have you been having frequent uti's? I did and the mfm put me on meds. for that to prevent more uti's during pregnancy that could trigger pre-term labor. Have you ...

Re: Preeclampsia v Postpartum Preeclampsia

This is a good reason to have your own bp monitor at home.

With my most recent pregnancy, the mfm wanted me to come in 1 week, 3 weeks, and six weeks after my daughter was born.
