Re : Did you try a high protein diet?

<t>I also was on the Brewer diet, and my midwife was perfectly happy with my diet right up until I transfered care at 33 weeks with severe pre-eclampsia. She didn't catch the PE; it came on during the two weeks between appointments, and she was happy with the mild rise I'd had in bp over the course ...

<t>No, I'm not. <t>When we were in NICU, they were relatively unconcerned about 32 weekers, and completely unconcerned about 34 weekers. 32 weeks, especially with steroid shots (for you, to improve their lung functioning), is quite the milestone as I understand things!<br/> <br/> I know it's scary; hang in there!<b...

Re : BP meds and fetal outcome

<t>It's my understanding (and I may be completely off base here) that hypertension in pregnancy is not the *cause* of the abruptions etc., but rather a symptom indicating that those complications are more likely.<br/> <br/> So it may be that treating it doesn't actually improve blood flow to the pla...

Re : what has everyones blood pressure who has pre-e?

My severe pre-eclampsia started out at 90/60. I topped out around 220/116 both on hospital admission and then again postpartum.
