...and at the moment, I'm locked from posting links as a potentially spammy "new user", with my +10,000 posts since 2006. LOL. Well, if you copy-paste the quoted text into Google, it will take you to the PubMed abstract.

The complement system and adverse pregnancy outcomes
"The innate and adaptive immune system must be regulated to insure survival of the fetal allograft, and the complement system is no exception. An intact complement system optimizes placental development and function and is essential to maintain host defense and fetal survival. Complement regulation ...

Re: Elevated blood pressure (130-155/95-113) at 26 weeks
Welcome! Since it's not your first pregnancy, you're liable to get somewhat farther along. Once a placenta's been able to dig in there, it's easier for subsequent placentas to embed properly. It sounds like you might have some chronic hypertension going on, even if it only really appears when you're...

Re: Newbie: experiencing second pregnancy after pree
Welcome! Sounds like you had excellent care when things went sideways. I laughed out loud at "You're turning on the sirens?" When the symptoms are so invisible to us, it seems like we can't possibly be as sick as we are. I walked into L&D triage feeling fine, with a bp of 220/116... The good...

Needed: minority representation in research
http://www.preeclampsia.org/the-news?id=601 "Using The Preeclampsia Registry allows researchers to easily identify a population eager to volunteer for research into preeclampsia. This makes it easier and more cost effective for researchers to work on preeclampsia in general – a major goal of the P...

Re: HELLP in 3rd pregnancy?
Hi Sara, and welcome. I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your little one. This syndrome is so brutal and so, so fast-moving. I've pinged a few people who did have HELLP after normal pregnancies - I can tell you that in general, subsequent pregnancies are usually pretty uneventful, but that you w...
