Are language skills genetic?

<t>I have two different daughters, one started out life at 30 weeks with her fathers Irish temper, my brown eyes, and language skills that really did not come out very clearly until she was around 2? My second daughter started out life at 36 weeks with her grandmothers blue eyes, my temper and at 16...

Re : walking and running question----updated!!

<t>Hi! My ped when Caitlyn was your son's age said "Don't worry Caitlyn will do it when Caitlyn wants to do it not when the milestone guidelines said. Sure enough, Caitlyn barely crawled but she was walking several steps at 16 months and a pro by 18 months and she was born at 30 weeks. In fact we im...

Re : Screaming!!

<t>I lived through both of my girls screaming fits with strange things like vaccumming helped Genna, I guess the "white" noise was a calming factor. She loves the vaccumm today. Caitlyn always needed something in her mouth to calm her down. I think though it was one of the reasons why it was so hard...

Re : Had our little guy

Congrats on the birth of your son. He sounds like he is a little fighter (of course 7lbs at 35 weeks is HUGE!:o))) Hang in there mommy, he will be home sooner than you think.

Re : 7 days no bm, constipation- UPDATE

Thanks Ladies,

I plan to call the ped tomorrow. As you can see by my update, she has finally gone after eight days and an enema. That was not fun but she said she felt better. Thanks again.

Re : 7 days no bm, constipation- UPDATE

<t>I have struggled with this with Caitlyn for three years. Our ped just told me to give her more fiber which I have been for quite a while. Another problem is that she does not like to drink much. On top of being a picky eater, it has led to chronic problems. I have called around for a gastroencron...

Re : 7 days no bm, constipation- UPDATE

Thank you Amie Jo! I have to call the girls ped on Monday anyway to ask about Genna's second flu shot so I will see if I can schedule an appointment. I just gave Caitlyn at dose of the baby laxative made by Little Tummys so I hope it helps. Thanks for letting me know I am not alone.

7 days no bm, constipation- UPDATE

<t>I am at my wits end with Caitlyn and her constipation. The last time she had a bm was last SATURDAY! It was huge but did not seem to hurt her. I even stepped up her fiber intake this week to try hard to get her more regular but it seems like she is holding it in.. She has had a constipation probl...

Re : Sonnet

Congrats Sonnett! I am so happy for you. I was so amazed at how fast Caitlyn grew when I finally got her home. She was off the apnea monitor within a month and has not stopped since (except for the asthma probs that have just popped up)... These little preemies are amazing!

Re : baby doesn't look like me or my husband why?

<t>My girls are both from different sides of the genetic rollercoaster as far as their eyes are concerned, Caitlyn has my brown eyes and Genna has blue eyes but my mom has blue eyes and my dh's dad has blue eyes so she was destined somewhere down the line. Genna was very dark skin toned until about ...
