Prior preemie inguinal hernia surgery

<t>Caitlyn had a double inguinal hernia surgery as well as the belly button surgery right after she came out of the NICU. Have any of your preemies had this done? Any lasting effects? I have had a TON of problems potty training Caitlyn as she seems to struggle with going to the bathroom and does not...

Re : Fontanelle Closing

I know I am behind at answering this one but to my knowledge and experience, a lot of kids don't have it close until they are past two years old. Caitlyn's did not until she was after 24 months.

Re : umbilical hernia???

I know I am late at responding to this but Caitlyn had an umbilical right after birth. It was fixed when they fixed both of her unilateral ones. I hope Avery is feeling better.

Re : swelling question

I would have loved to have made it to 26 weeks with my rings. I had to take them off with both my pregnancies around 20 weeks but I was extremely swelled both times. Just keep your doctor updated.

Re : Question about Sleeping

<t>We went through the same things with both girls but more with Caitlyn. She slept in her bassinet until around 8 months when she outgrew it and I put her in her crib. She also like the bear I had that has the mothers womb sounds. Genna went through similiar things but her main thing was making sur...

Re : Are language skills genetic?

<t>Thank you Erin for all of your input. I have put speech questions out before and you have been a lot of help. I had a lot of concerns with Caitlyn because she was so hard to understand at 18 months and only had a few recognizable words and not really any sentence forming. I guess that is why Genn...

Re : Are language skills genetic?

<t>I had a doctor in North Carolina that told me that most second sibilings don't talk as fast as their sibilings. I can remember going to Caitlyn's 18 month well child check and being worried because she babbled more than anything but I know she was born 6 weeks earlier than Genna. Genna was next t...

Re : Are language skills genetic?

<t>Thanks Kelly. I am a wordy person when I want to talk but I am not very good in a crowd and I think Genna is following in my footsteps where Caitlyn is my little actress and always needs to be the center of attention. You are amazing to be having 5, I can barely keep up with my two.:o) Maybe I ca...

Re : Are language skills genetic?

<t>Thanks Laura! I do pay attention to the child milestones but with Caitlyn, it was always she will get to it when "Caitlyn" wants to, which meant crawling, walking, etc. Her doc during her infantcy said, don't worry she will do it when Caitlyn wants to. I have had a hard time getting that through ...

Re : Phoenix is 6 months!

He is adorable! I will have to get his number so Genna will have options, hope he likes older women:o) (she is 10 months older). Good Job Denise, your kids are beautiful.
