<t>I am 36 weeks today. An official take home baby. I saw my Perinatologist on Monday and the baby is doing great. He is still in the 70% and weighs between 5.5 and 6 pounds. Re : Aspirin Therapy

<t>Apirin therapy is thought to prevent HELLP and severe pre-e so your platelets don't drop. There is a lot of speculation that pre-e is caused by blood clotting disorders that create blood clots or insufficient flow in the placenta and umbilical cord. Even if you don't have a genetic disorder, you ...

Re : If you had a choice....

<t>If I had the choice I would do a VBAC. The biggest risk of rupture during a VBAC is if you are induced and/or given pitocin. If you go into labor naturally and don't get pitocin or a similar drug, the chance of rupture is extremely low. Unless of course you ahve a classical/vertical incision like...

Re : Who else had General Anesthesia during C-Section?

I had general anesthesia with Mary Rose because my platelets were so low they were afraid I would bleed into my spinal column if they did an epidural. I am going to have a scheduled c-section in 2 weeks and the hope is to do an epidural. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Re : Big Moms, Big Problems

<t>My doctor's have told me that it is not the weight that has such an impact on pe, but the fact that higher weight usually means higher blood pressure. With Mary Rose, I weighed about the same as I did when I got pregnant with this little one. With Mary Rose I actually lost weight during the pregn...

Re : Slowed weight gain = forced solids?

<t>I say go with your gut. You know what your baby needs. There is a theory that babies who take longer to start solids are actually instinctivly protecting themselves from food allergies and are waiting until their bodies can handle solid foods. Plus, your baby may totally make up the weight this m...

Re : Toured the hospital

<t>Thank you all so much for your supportive words. I agree that at least I was able to have the first gut wrenching experience last week instead of the day my son is born. part of me is so excited to be at this point in my pregnancy, and part of me is terrified. I actually postponed taking the caes...

Toured the hospital

<t>Last Friday I was 33 weeks pregnant. I can't believe it. I had gone to the peri on Tuesday and the baby is still huge, almost 5 pounds and in the 72nd%. He is head down ready to go. I have plenty of amniotic fluid and no blood clot in the umbilical cord. My liver panel came back clean and my urin...
