Wow...BP post partum
<t>So, I'm 4 months post partum and I was feeling a little dizzy. I decided to take my blood pressure lying on my left side just to see.<br/> <br/> It was 94/50!<br/> <br/> To think that my OB was okay with 140/90s while pregnant!!!<br/> <br/> Thankfully, I appear to have a healthy baby girl with no...

Re : Mollie arrived safely and THEN my bp's went up
Congrats on your baby!
My BP was up postpartum, too. I was put on Labetalol, but my BP stabilized back to normal about 2 weeks post partum when all the fluid finally came off (I gained 30, but was down 25 by then!)

Re : Back with #2 and PE again. Question re: induction
<t>I just wanted to say that I was on strict home bed rest from week 29 to 37 and as long as I was on either side my BP was 130/80....Sitting/standing it was 140/90s to 150s/100s.<br/> <br/> Baby girl is nearly 4 months old now and had no IUGR or other issues.<br/> <br/> It's rough (I was only allow...

Re : What Were Your First Symptoms of P/E or HELLP?
<t>Well, I gained 10 lbs (4 in one week!) in one month...I'd been eating lots of cupcakes, so I attributed it to that...I had a high BP at that visit, too, but it went down when I laid down.<br/> <br/> Then, I'd been getting winded and feeling dizzy/light-headed. I was so oblivious, I thought I was ...

Re : Does PE effect milk supply?
I delivered at 37 weeks, no nursing issues, but she did drop 13 oz in our 4 days in the hospital. Now at 2 months, she's up 4+lbs from her birth weight.
I was on labetalol for a week post partum, apparently it can help with milk supply.

Re : 24 HR URINE QUESTION
When I was in the hospital, they just kept the jug on ice in a bucket. Can you do that?

Not sure...I had daily nosebleeds my whole 1st trimester, but it was winter and we had just moved from humid Florida to dry Texas. Humidifier helped me tons...
I know high BP can cause nosebleeds, not sure about the other stuff.

Re : Lung Maturity Amnio Question
<t>I was just going to add that I had similar BPs 140s/80s (while lying down, 150s/90s sitting up) protein was 400 on 24 hr urine at 29 weeks. Baby checked out fine always and my bloodwork was always normal too. <br/> <br/> I was on strict bedrest but wasn't induced until 37 weeks and I'd had the st...

Re : Tachycardia and PE history?
I had mild pre-e, but my heart rate was frequently 130s-150s. Apparently it's ultra common in pregnancy.

Re : 37 or 38 week induction?
<r>Wow, thanks for the info Caryn, that makes me feel a little better about my induction. I just wished I'd asked my OB to take things slower. I mean, for a FTM, 6 hours from start to finish is REALLY fast, in my opinion, especially since 1 and 1/2 of those were spent just waiting for the epidural t...
