Re: Doctors giving us the run-around

How is your wife doing? I hope that the doctor and nurses have been more responsive to your wife's symptoms.

Re: Confused about pre-e risk assessment

It seems you are in good hands and I am glad you went to be seen right away! I received very similar treatment (btw. Labetalol did nothing for me and unfortunately I was allergic to Nifedapine). Once you are no longer pregnant, it is not "quite" as worrisome, as more medication can be given if neede...

Re: Confused about pre-e risk assessment

I am so sorry you have to deal with this! It sounds very much like my story! I was re-admitted to the hospital (in my case back to the post-delivery department). What the doctors will do is to monitor you, run all kinds of tests, like blood tests, will check if there is any fluid buildup in lungs or...

Re: Confused about pre-e risk assessment

How did your appointment go? I hope you were in good hands with your primary care physician. It can take a while for the BP to adjust to normal levels. For me it was 3 weeks before I was off medication, some women need medication for 3 months, 6 months, and some need to take the long term. There is ...

Re: Confused about pre-e risk assessment

PE can get worse after delivery. It happened to me with my second pregnancy. The first two weeks post-partum were quite challenging with many med and dosage changes. The doctors explained to me that this can happen due to chemical reactions that have been set in motion. The body needs time to re-adj...

Re: Confused about pre-e risk assessment

As has been mentioned s, docs are extra cautious when it comes to PE and don't like to wait around much past 37 weeks. I had c-sections only, so I can't comment on how inductions go. I am thinking of you, however, and hope it will all go as smoothly as possible.

Re: New to Forum and nervous

Welcome to the forums! And yay for 34 weeks :-) How did your appointment go last Tuesday? Any change in your symptoms? Here is a list of PE signs and symptoms. Sometimes symptoms can be silent, so you don't feel off or gain a lot of water weight. I am glad your doctor is checking you thoroughly. htt...

Re: Labile blood pressure

Higher BP in early pregnancy does not necessarily mean you will develop preeclampsia again, but you might. It does put you in a higher risk category if you will. Unfortunately, there is no clear answer. The most important thing is to keep a close eye on all the signs and symptoms, and communicate an...
