Article suggesting mom avoid OBs?
Just saw this article, and thought I would post and see if others had thoughts! It suggests that mothers seek out a family practictioner or midwife instead of an OB in order to avoid a c-section, and I immediately thought of past discussions on the PF forum about negative experiences with family pra...

New Jersey Perinatal Specialist?
I think there's a board policy against making referrals to specific physicians in forum posts, but if anyone would be willing to send me a private message, I have a cousin with a history of preeclampsia who may need a perinatal specialist in the New Jersey area. Specifically near Hightstown, NJ, and...

Responding to people downplaying PE
Long time no post! I hope all my 2010 bedrest buddies are doing well :D I recently saw this on a moms discussion board, and thought I would get others' take on it here. I should preface by saying I've heard many comments like this before, usually in discussions among moms advocating home birth, doul...

Study opportunity in DFW area!

This has already been reviewed and approved by the...

Re: So angry.
I wanted to add a hug and a note to say that I can relate to the anxiety and anger, and to share that I got a lot of relief from seeing a therapist who specializes in women's issues and reproductive issues. I was referred to 2 different therapists by my OB, and from reviewing their profiles and call...

Immune deficiency?
It has been a long time since I posted, but found out some new info about my health, and in case it is at all related to PE and might help others, I thought I should make a note! :) I thought I remembered reading (and am pulling up a couple of posts on search) about testing for immune issues as a po...

Re: stopping night feedings
Hi Rosalinda -- haven't been here in a long time, but saw your post & had to respond!! (just wrote long response but browser deleted, arghhh!) Are you all still having night wakings? We are in the same boat, 2x on a good night, more when he's teething. Cries like crazy if no nursing/bottle (on the 2...

Re : LDA and delivery ?
My MFM had me stay on LDA through the day before delivery (c-section), I had no complications with the delivery.

Re : Lovenox dosage question and dilemma
I was on one shot of prefilled lovenox each day until the end, when I was switched to heparin. I bruised quite a bit while on the lovenox. Good luck with finding answers!!

Re : Did you have a flu shot while pregnant?
I did, during both my PE and my PE-free pregnancies. During my PE-free pregnancy last year I got both the regular flu shot and the H1N1 shot. Both times I got preservative free, although my OBs said it wasn't necessary.
