Max is here!

<t>Just wanted to announce the birth of my son, Maxwell, on Friday Sept 11 at 8:21 AM. He was born via scheduled C-section at 36 wks 2 days. He weighed 5 lbs 10 oz. Towards the end, I was put on modified bedrest and had mild preeclampsia, but all is well and we made it to our scheduled surgery date!...

Re : NYT article about ongoing trauma to NICU parents

Thank you for posting that! I had to show it to my hubby - he has showed all the signs of PTSD. No one was there to tell us that this could happen.

Ouch Ouch Ouch!!!

<t>So, I'm 32 weeks along and have just been diagnosed with pubic symphasis separation. Basically, my pubic bone is separating and it REALLY hurts to move in any way. The docs gave me handicapped parking and sent me to a physical therapist who pretty much told me that there's not much I can do besid...

Re : Placental infarctions

The docs told me that part of the placenta had actually necrotized. No underlying blood disorders were found though. For good measure, my doctors have me taking a blood thinner injection this pregnancy go-round just in case.

Re : New here-lost baby at 22.5 weeks due to HELLP

<t>I can't tell you how sorry I am - my heart hurts for you. I was hospitalized at 23 weeks and managed to hang on to 24 weeks when I developed HELLP. I remember that day clearly - the docs took the bagel out of my hand and told me that if I didn't deliver, I'd die. It was a very hard time for us, a...

Re : Numb fingertips

<t>I have minimal swelling, and minimal tingling, but LOTS of hand pain. It takes two hands to brush my teeth in the morning because it hurts so bad to grip anything. I asked my peri about this and she said that it's not an uncommon response to increased bodily fluids putting pressure on the nerves ...

Re : new here in need of support

How true - my hubby and I still rehash the whole thing. It happened so fast and was so surreal. We're still dealing with everything that happened 10 months ago.

Re : TTC w/out underlying cond. -success stories please

<t>Hi there,<br/> I had a little girl at 24 weeks due to HELLP. The doctors didn't find any underlying conditions. I'm pregnant again, 30 wks 5 days, with no signs of pre-e. Blood pressures have been stable and I'm doing fine. I am very heavily monitored though. I see my peri every week, and I have ...

Re : For all you Lovenox users...

I had HELLP with my first pregnancy, and started with Lovenox at 6 weeks during my second pregnancy. I am now 30 wks 5 days pre-e FREE!!! I don't mind taking the shots - I haven't had problems with them.
