Re : Coordination issues - UPDATE FROM 4/30 OT appt.

<t>Hi again Kara!<br/> <br/> I have a lot of info on the subject (I sent you an email). Too much info to list here about it though. Vision therapy usually involves eye exercises though with a qualified professional. The trick is to "train" the eyes to work together. There are mixed reviews about it ...

Not allowed to post certain topics?

I'm confused. I thought that this forum is meant to help people. Yet, when I post anything involving vaccines - it is quickly taken down. Why?

<t>Hi Kara!<br/> <br/> My son had problems with gross motor/fine motor. It turned out that he has a Visual Processing Disorder. Only a Behavioral Optometrist can make the diagnosis. I would look into it.<br/> <br/> <br/> quote:Originally posted by Kara<br/> <br/> So DH and I have been noticing that ...

Re : Did you catch Dateline last night (Wed)?

I actually threw out all of my Dr. Brown bottles because of the BPA. I ended up buying Born Free which are sold in Babies R Us. They are vented glass bottles and I love them! Expensive, but worth every penny!!

Re : worried (illness)

<r>If your baby was born with fragile lungs, you might want to do your homework on vaccines too. My son was congested daily for several months after his 2 mo. vaccines (prior to that he was completely fine). Come to find out there is a lot of formaldehyde in many of them (100 micrograms of it in his...

Re : Preemie Check-in

<t>Austin just turned 1 on 2/26/08! He was born at 34 weeks and weighed in at 4 lbs. 8 1/2 oz. and was 18 inches long. I have to laugh looking back now because at his 4 mo. checkup the doctor's mouth fell open at the size of him. Her exact words were "who ate the preemie?" I guess he caught up at th...

Re : Severe PE/Relapse

<t>Hi Anne!<br/> <br/> Actually there aren't any studies on the issue which is why doctors are giving it to every woman after they deliver, regardless of whether they have preeclampsia or not. What I found most disturbing is that after I went through my whole ordeal (suffered my relapse after delive...

Developmental Delays

<t>As many know, it is now standard practice to have your premature baby screened for developmental delays. Despite my concerns, my pediatrician did not feel that my infant was delayed. However, according to Easter Seals he is. The representative told me that many doctors are very ignorant in this a...

FDA approves new vaccine Rotarix

<t>The FDA Panel has recently approved GlaxoSmith Kline's new vaccine, Rotarix (vaccine for diarrhea associated virus). The vote to approve the vaccine was 11-1. Consumer Member Vicky Debold voted "no" due to the possible safety issues involved. In clinical trials, infants had the following serious ...
