Re: Steriod shot reactions
I had a bad reaction to the shots. It's very uncommon. To the best of everyone's guess/understanding, I had a dormant virus in my system. The combination of funky autoimmune issues (pregnancy & pre-e) combined with the steroids let the virus create havoc. It damaged the motor nerves in my right arm ...

Re: For those of you who were induced at 37 weeks
With my DS, I was diagnosed at 37 weeks 2 days and did not need a c-section. I had been using Evening Primrose Oil for a few weeks to help ripen my cervix. DH was also doing his part to help with cervical ripening.

Re: almost 37 weeks
With DD I felt like a ticking time bomb the last few months. I just wanted DD to be born.

Re: Anxiety & PE
I had a lot of anxiety throughout my pregnancy with DD. I was on medication when I got pregnant and was trying to wean off before the third trimester. I didn't wean from it entirely, but I did cut down to a minimal dose. It was pretty obvious when my symptoms started to feel like more than anxiety a...

Re: will i get it again?
Were you tested for any underlying disorders that would increase your risk? Most women don't have it with a second pregnancy. I'm not an example of "most" women, though, because I did get it again.

Re: Update - admitted to hospital now but not for PE
I ended up with a c-section because DD was transverse (they were going to induce for BP until they saw her position on the U/S). With her position, my OB/GYN wasn't interested in doing a version, but I did end up with a bikini incision, not a classical incision. He really had to work to get her out,...

Re: should I have concerns if baby is breech?
DS didn't turn head down until 37 weeks. You have plenty of time for the baby to turn.

Re: Getting worse earlier this time
It sounds like what happened to me the second time, except I actually started getting high BPs a week later than my earlier pregnancy. The disease progressed much more quickly. When I had pressures around 170/105, the doctors prescribed (and then increased) Labetalol and I squeaked by with 2 1/2 mor...

Re: Side Effects from Steriod shots?
The steroid shots, combined with what was already going on with me in pregnancy, allowed a dormant virus in my body to become active again. I had what was called Parsonage Turner Syndrome and the motor nerves in my right arm were affected. I didn't have complete use of my right arm for 6 weeks until...

Re: Problems producing milk from magnesium
I was on mag with DD and had no problems with my milk coming in. She received formula three times because her blood sugar was so low and I was throwing up so badly that nursing would have been difficult, but I still was able to begin nursing while I was still getting it via IV. I was also on Lasiks ...
