Severe preeclampsia at 30 weeks

Well she reared her ugly head again. I developed severe preeclampsia last Tuesday 2/15 and was admitted. My initial labs were not that bad (liver/kidneys etc) and my BP was only 128/80 when I was admitted, but my amniotic fluid dropped two weeks in a row, and they wanted me to be monitored and do mo...

Re: I've been admitted to the hospital

After drinking 300 oz yesterday and a liter of IV fluids, my AFI is not any better today, if anything worse according to the doc. The doc is pretty sure we are starting preeclampsia, yet how fast it will progress is to be seen. My labs are all ok (kidneys/liver, platelets etc) and tonight i'll have ...

I've been admitted to the hospital **UPDATE***

2/16 - Well I have preeclampsia, she reared her ugly head once again. So far its mild (300 proteinurea and my PIH labs are all normal) ...its the fluid around the baby that is the most concerning. I'm presuming that this all just started since my BPs have all been VERY normal until a week and a half...

Anyone have pre-e in prior pgcy then just PIH?

I had severe pre-e in my first two pregnancies (had an undiagnosed clotting disorder). Ten years later I discovered I had FVL and got pregnant and was on lovenox and LDA for that pregnancy and it went without any problems at all. Now, just a few years later, i'm pregnant with my 4th baby. Things hav...

Caffiene related??? Caryn?

So after my doctor's appointment yesterday, I decided to cut out caffiene. I will admit I was having way more coffee than I probably should have (4-5 cups a day), and I had two cups prior to my doctor's appt on an empty stomach when they got those two high BP readings. I quit today (switched to deca...

Re: Amnio date and c section ?

Toradol is SO amazing (it's non narcotic, its IV ibuprofen)....that after my IV came out, I asked for it IM (shot) until I went home. It works soooo good and doesn't make you loopy/tired/constipated like narcotic pain killers do. AMAZING stuff! Angie, was it toradal? That's what I took with Oliver, ...

Re: 29 week appt, a little bummed

Angela, I work .75 right now, and will be going to .6 after the baby is born...we also only have 12 hour shifts. I did talk to my boss today about doing Level 2 care only for awhile instead of Level 3, which hopefully will help. My boss told me not to even worry about getting a doctors note just let...

29 week appt, a little bummed

My BP took a significant jump. I am normally 100/60....and it was 124/72, which is still within normal limits, but high for me. They took it again before I left and it was 132/80. Ugh. I was measuring (by tape measure) 2 weeks behind and on the little laptop u/s machine my fluid looked a little low,...

Re: Second time around, how did your Pre-e present?

Mine presented the same way in both my first pregnancies....epigastric pain. I never felt off or anything with my BP but the epigastric pain was unbearable - it was enough to make me go to the ER in the middle of the night both times. After years later, and finally looking at my medical records, I n...
