Re: Im new here, and terrified!
What is your doctor doing now to monitor you? Are you having labs drawn on a routine basis? I'm not sure what your current pain could be from but, I would definitely want to have that investigated further.

Re: New Here & A Little Freaked Out
The second time around is definitely scary! Right now because your baseline is higher than the "normal" your bp isn't probably going to be too concerning to your doctor. BUT, you the best advocate for yourself and your baby. If you would be more comfortable with a high risk doctor then ask for one. ...

Just thought I would chime in. I was diagnosed at 22 weeks with severe preeclampsia and made it to 33 weeks before delivery. It is possible to get many more weeks out of your pregnancy. I am living proof of that! I know that my case is probably not the norm but, there is hope. It sounds like your do...

Re: Questions about placental abruptions
Have you ever been tested for thrombophilias while you were pregnant? I do not have any clotting issues outside of pregnancy but, for some reason have had low protein s and protein c during two of my pregnancies. I was never tested during the first so its possible that it happened them too. Maybe yo...

Re: 24 1/2 Weeks - On Bed Rest
There are still potential reasons to deliver even without hitting the protein mark. If your bp gets too high and can't be controlled that could be a potential reason. Your bp would probably have to be extremely high for that to be a stand alone reason to deliver. There is also still potential that t...

Re: 24 1/2 Weeks - On Bed Rest
It sounds to me like the two biggest concerns would be your blood pressure and the growth of the baby. If your baby is in the 4th percentile then that would mean that there is intra-uterine growth restriction (IUGR). IUGR can affect the development of the baby and can be very concerning. Usually the...

Welcome to the forum! You are considered to have chronic hypertension if your develop high blood pressure before 20 weeks. My understanding is that the placenta is not fully developed before 20 weeks and the interaction between the placenta and the mother is thought to be a major factor in the devel...

Re: New Here! Concerns and questions
I think that you have every right to be concerned about your health and the health of your baby. i understand too what your doc is getting at with the bp. A lot of docs will let women with chronic hypertension run a little higher than non-hypertensive women. But, you are experiencing other symptoms ...

Re: Chronic Hypertension but Pre-e labs came back negative
It is hard to say how much longer you can stay pregnant. If you continue to be relatively stable, then it is reasonable to think that you can get 6 or 7 more weeks out of your pregnancy. I made it 11 more weeks after I was diagnosed with pe in my last pregnancy and the pregnancy before that I had PI...

It could mean that you are starting to develop a UTI. What did your doc say about it?
