Re : Dreading Daycare

<t>We've done both daycare and a nanny. My preemie started at 6 months and never had a problem. 2 years later DS who was full term did get a bad case of RSV and flu at the same time, go figure. While I prefer having a nanny and doing part time preschool now, daycare can be a very good option too. I ...

<t>"I would eat a diet that was very high in complex carbs for a few days before. Whole wheat pasta, brown rice, sprouted grain bread (you could eat the white stuff, but I have a thing about food they have to put nutrients back into to make it healthy for you.)"<br/> <br/> I'm no expert and I could ...

Re : Flattened head

<t>We had the same problem with DS starting around 3 months. Our ped recommended a physical therapist who was not that great. She told us the problem was not positioning but simply torticolitis (sp) shortend neck muscles. (When the neck muscles shorten the baby always rests his head to one side and ...

Re : delaying kindergarten?

<t>I live in a pretty, competitive metropolitan area and there is a practice called red shirting now where parents hold back kids with absolutely no developmental problems and birthdays within a year of the cut off just to ensure that they are ahead in their classes academically and physically. Its ...

Re : How does maternal age influence preeclampsia?

<t>For Downs or other genetic mutations, the odds increase progressively as you age. There is no huge jump between 34 and 35, it simply crosses the line to equal the likliehood of miscarriage %from amnio....maybe 1/200?. This is all based on age before triple screen or nuchal tests, so many docs giv...

The Dora the Explorer underwear comes in 2T and seems to run pretty small. It fits my tall but still super skinny 24 lb 3 year old. They have it at Amazon and Macy's.

<t>Just chiming in on how annoying and prevalent the misinformation out there is when you've actually had PE. <br/> <br/> I was shocked to find out that several of the popular Bradley method instructors in my area promote the high protein (Brewster type) diet as a prevention and worse intervention f...

Stopping at 2 b/s PE

<t>My husband and I always originally planned on just having two kids. After our 2nd was born though we started considering well why not a third. I was surprised at how much I started wanting a third child right after our second was born, perhaps its not wanting to realize that this will be the last...

<t>Congratulations and try not to worry too much about the heart murmur, even though it sounds scary. Many infants, even term babies with no PE pregnancies, can have innocent murmurs. There are also many types of common structural murmurs that create very few life complications. I have mitral valve p...

Re : Should I induce at 37 weeks or 38 weeks?

<t>You many want to ask whether you will be put on Mag for the earlier more elective induction as a precaution or not. Doctors vary in how liberally they prescribe it and how long they plan to keep you on it. If your PE gets worse then you would most likely would really need Mag.<br/> <br/> Mag as a...
