Samantha Katherine "Kate" is here!

<t>Just as an update. I've only posted here a few places, and only one day![8)]<br/> <br/> Samantha Katherine "Kate" was born at home on 9/11 at 3:30 am. Labor started at 2:07 am, and got real intense at 3 am...my water broke (with some meconium) at 3:15, I called my midwife and my doula, and then w...

Re : Roll call: who is pregnant and healthy?

3 weeks post partum now, and we had a perfectly healthy pregnancy! No blood pressure issues, even 1 hour after birth it was 138/72...top number a bit high, but bottom number was right on for pre-pg and the last few weeks. Still had no traces of protine in my urine.

Re : ? of the Day: Birth Control

<t>Before pregnancy, I hadn't used anything. <br/> <br/> After my son was born...<br/> <br/> mini pill- from 5 days PP through the end of the pack. <br/> Reason for stopping - have to take the pill at the same time everyday or it is much less effective, so I took it at 9 pm before bed. EVERYNIGHT at...

Re : question of the day re: pregnancy ideals

<t>Great question!<br/> <br/> For me it was loss of an ideal delivery/immediate post partum. I had planned to labor at home for a while, and have no IV's or other interventions in my labor and birth. I had planned to nurse immediatly. Well, I was of course induced, IV, pitocen, cathiter, continuious...

Re : Do you believe it's fair??

<t>There are several reasons why it's physcially better. Depending on the time of the baby's death, the uterus could be too thick to cut. If the woman is presented with ALL the options (which doesn't happen in normal birth all the time) then she should be free to choose if she has a c-section or a v...

Re : Your weight

I started out that pregnancy at 135, and gained 32. I gained 22 by like 36 weeks, and at 38 had suddenly gained another 10!

Re : Question of the day: what made you deliver?

<t>Question: Were you induced, sectioned, or go into labor spontaneously? At what GA were you induced or sectioned? What indicators did your doctor use to decide to deliver? Do you think they should have waited longer? Do you think they waited too long? Or was it just right?<br/> <br/> I was induced...

Re : Roll call: who is pregnant and healthy?

Morning! So far so good here!! 33, almost 34 weeks!! My bp has actually been lower than my pre-pregnancy bp thus far, with no traces of protine!! Considering the first time the pre-e didn't start to show up until 38 weeks...I'm a little leary, but holding out hope :D
