Re: Confused about pre-e risk assessment

Thanks. I ended up going to the closest hospital rather then where we delivered because my BP seemed rather high to me, they pushed labetol through an IV which did nothing but make my BP go into scary high numbers above 200, they ended up giving me an anti anxiety medicine because seeing those numbe...

Re: Confused about pre-e risk assessment

Got admitted to the hospital Thursday night for high blood pressure and have been on a combination of drugs that seem to be sort of helping but still not at the levels they need to be. BP is holding around 146/98, cardiologist wants it under 130/80-I will be at the hospital at least till Monday. Got...

Re: Confused about pre-e risk assessment

Thanks. I made an appointment with my primary care physician for tomorrow, should I request that they check my blood and urine? I was at the ER a few nights ago and they checked my blood and said they weren't concerned from the results--but I am obviously on edge worrying about the BP, caring for a ...

Re: Confused about pre-e risk assessment

Wanted to give an update as I am now more confused then ever. We were induced last week and I ended up having a c-section for failure of the baby to descend. After the c-section I began having protein in my urine so they pushed mag. sulfate for 24hrs. I started having high BP after delivery and it h...

Re: Confused about pre-e risk assessment

Thanks everyone. So far, no protein in urine, and blood tests came back normal. BP is fluctuating but mainly in the 130-140/90-97's and I am continuing to monitor it, they said no meds needed but to go to L&D if it goes to 160/110 or if I get a reading of over 110 more then 2x, also of course to hea...

Re: Confused about pre-e risk assessment

Doesn't look like I will need meds as of right now for BP. Still waiting on results of most recent 24hr collection and blood test results, should have them tomorrow. MFM doc stated that regardless whether or not Pre-E or just PIH the protocol is to induce at 37 weeks at most 38 weeks. I am meeting w...

Re: Confused about pre-e risk assessment

Just wanted to give an update, last 24hr urine collection was fine. I am now 34w4d, BP was high during office visit and had to get another NST done, that was fine, BP went down a little so I was able to go home. Still waiting on blood work and urine results. They are still thinking induction at 37 o...

Re: Confused about pre-e risk assessment

Saw the MFM doc today. I am 29w5d. BP is fine, no protein in urine at my last midwife visit, everything seemed to be going fine however, the MFM doc today said that the placenta is maturing faster then it should and that she had some concerns about the umbilical artery and blood flow? and has asked ...

Re: Confused about pre-e risk assessment

Ended up switching midwife groups and saw the new ones this week and am feeling way more confident in my care! I am now 26w5d and am not on any BP meds, my BP this week was lower then last weeks reading--I def. have to sit still for a few min before taking it rather then right when I get to the offi...

Re: Confused about pre-e risk assessment

Thanks for the response, saw the MFM doc this week--she said to call if my BP read 140/90 more then once. BP was 138/80 at appointment but she didn't seem concerned, I have another appt with the midwives next week so hopefully they will check for protein, have some slight swelling in my right hand, ...
