Re: Must you have high bp..

I am sorry for the loss of your first baby. I had pre-e signs before developing HELLP. But I have read about cases where it doesn't happen that way. Some theories classify HELLP and pre-e as separate diseases, not necessarily with HELLP as a more severe form of pre-e.

Re: Need Help

Lily, congratulations on your pregnancy. I am very sorry you lost your baby due to pre-eclampsia. Here is a link to a website that may help you find an OB, check Medicaid for insurance provider, enter your specific location, and see what comes up. Once you have an OB, he or she should be able to hel...

Re: HELLP 7 years ago; fear of second pregnancy and now in 4

I am sorry you had HELLP and your pregnancy was mismanaged. I agree any pregnancy is a leap of faith and you have to educate yourself on all the risks, including those associated with donor eggs and do what's best for your family. I am in that evaluating stage myself, after developing HELLP and losi...

Re: Recovery time

Hi, I am sorry you developed pre-eclampsia. I think recovery time can vary. I have seen 6-8 weeks post partum, a few months, and then people like me who went on to have chronic hypertension a few years after. What helped me was to see my internist a week or two after delivery and then come up with a...

Re: IVF and Pre-e and HELLP

Caryn, I don't think you missed anything. Maybe he was just not aware? He didn't frame his answer as if it were based on recent research. Sometimes I think we delve deeper into the details of these issues than our doctors.

Re: IVF and Pre-e and HELLP

I am going to check out the new links, thanks for sharing. Both my pregnancies were with single babies and we did an elective single frozen embryo transfer for the second. So I am really interested in the link between the IVF itself, without multiples, and pre-e. Just by instinct, not knowing about ...

Re: IVF and Pre-e and HELLP

I'm new here, but I'm interested in this subject since I also have to use IVF to conceive. I found links to the studies you're referring to towards the bottom of Caryn's post here: https://www.preeclampsia.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=26469 BTW - I'm very sorry for your loss. Thank you for findin...

IVF and Pre-e and HELLP

I was reading some older posts where someone wrote that fertility treatments are a risk-factor for pre-e due to problems with implantation. I did a quick search and could not find a source for this. If anyone knows where this came from, I would really appreciate it if you could share. We did IVF for...

Re: Two Losses Due to Preeclampsia- Surrogacy???

Robin, I am sorry for the loss of your daughter and your son. My doctor did suggest a surrogate for me if I want to have a second child. I do think it is a good idea to do a consult with a perinatologist (high risk OB) and a reproductive endocrinologist (OB to help with fertility treatments and surr...
