Re: Outcomes after first preg. w/sPE + deliv. before 34 week

Thanks for the explanation Caryn! Unfortunately, I had HELLP with an IUGR baby (born 1 lb 15 oz at 29 weeks). So, I'm not sure where I fit in. Blargh, I hate this condition so much!

Re: Outcomes after first preg. w/sPE + deliv. before 34 week

Hi Caryn, I'm so confused. Are you saying studies are showing you should have a subsequent pregnancy within two years to minimize risk of recurrence? Because we had consults with two different MFM teams about when to try again, and both advised us to wait two years before trying to conceive again to...

Re: What specific tests?

Hi,
My MFM ordered tests for antiphospholipid syndrome (clotting disorder), specifically
ANTI-CARDIOLIPIN,
CIRCUL ANTICOAG/CAC SCRN, and
B 2 GPI IGG & IGM.
(Not sure if those are the official names, but I just looked on my online med chart and that's what it said)
Hope this helps!

Re: Did you get more than one opinion before TTC again?

Thanks everyone for your input! Sam10: I was tested for the clotting disorder APS because the afterbirth examination showed that my placenta was full of blood clots, but I tested negative for APS so no one ever seemed to give an explanation for that. It is so frustrating to not have answers! Argh. F...

Did you get more than one opinion before TTC again?

Hi everyone. I have a 16 month old son who was born at 29 weeks due to HELLP, also with IUGR & placental abruption. I never had any high BP, only abdominal pain that drove me to the ER where I was told I had low platelets, elevated liver enzymes, and protein in the urine and then induced. Unfortunat...

Hello and questions to ask pre-conception?

Hi everyone. I'm new here. I'm 29, married, and live in Cleveland, OH. I delivered our son at 29 weeks due to HELLP Syndrome. I never had high BP. I went to the ER with abdominal pain, was told I had extremely low platelet counts and protein in my urine, and was given a C-section two days later. The...
