Re: HELLP twice and considering a 3rd pregnancy - help!

Thanks kaxy, no I haven't spoken to her again yet but doubt she will be able to tell me much other than it's likely to happen again.
I was hoping to find someone else who had done it a 3rd time but I'm struggling! x

HELLP twice and considering a 3rd pregnancy - help!

Hi, I've been a member of this site for a couple of years now but barely posted, but reading the other posts helped me so much in my last pregnancy so I hope you don't mind me jumping in now! I'm in the UK but I can see there are other international members. I had HELLP 2 years ago at 24 weeks, and ...

Re: 2nd trimester PE/HELLP in 1st pregnancy, 2nd pregnancy..

Thanks Holly. Ruaridh was in NICU for a month, so like you I know the added pain of seeing them struggle and having your hopes eventually shattered. The consultant I'm waiting to see is a leading PE specialist and has previously been president of the MFM society here in the UK so I'm confident he'll...

2nd trimester PE/HELLP in 1st pregnancy, 2nd pregnancy...?

Hi, I lost my son a few weeks ago after he was born at 24+6 due severe PE & HELLP. We're waiting for an appointment with a consultant before attempting to conceive again but I just wondered if anyone here had a similar experience in their first pregnancy, and what happened in the second pregnancy? A...

Re: Anyone in the UK?

Thanks, that's good to know. I was scheduled in for scans every 4 weeks from 24 weeks last time. Everything was fine at the 24 week one, as was my bp and protein, etc, but just 5 days later I had HELLP so badly I wasn't even allowed to be awake for the delivery. I'd been on aspirin from 17 weeks due...

Re: Anyone in the UK?

Thanks Jules. So happy to hear you've now got a healthy daughter.
Can I ask what preparation you did before your 2nd pregnancy, and were you on aspirin, etc, during it?

Re: Anyone in the UK?

Thanks for your replies. I've been lurking in the forum for weeks and have found so much useful information already. There just doesn't seem to be a UK equivalent unfortunately, certainly not on this scale. I guess the main thing I'm looking for is stories of people who've had something like this ha...

Anyone in the UK?

Hi, just wondering if anyone using this forum was in the UK? There's an amazing amount of info on here but obviously the healthcare system in the UK is pretty different so I was hoping someone might have some experience of it? I lost my son just over a month ago, he was born at 24+6 due to pre-e & H...
