Re : Your weight

<t>I started off my pregnancy at 145 pounds (I'm 5'7", so that was normal for me). I had hyperemesis and got down to 125 by 20 weeks. The day I delivered, I was 170 (My face looked like rubber). After deliver I shot up to 190. Almost 6 years later, and after finding out that I had some major thyroid...

Re : Thimerosol and flu shot

My doctor and my daughter's pediatrician only give us the "preservative-free" flu vaccine. They usually order it one day and give it to us the day it comes in. I know the preservative-free does not have any mercury in it, but I am not sure how else it is different.

Take Care,

Re : Graves disease

<t>Hey Jen,<br/> <br/> I have Graves' disease and you can actually test positive for the antibodies without being hyperthyroid. With my Graves, I bounced back and forth from hyper to hypo until I had my thyroid radiated. The new thought is that if you treat the antibodies with thyroid hormone, you m...

Re : what have I done wrong?

<t>Hi Jana,<br/> <br/> Yes, it is frustrating and hurtful. However, it is perfectly normal! My daughter was the same way and I talked to the pediatrician about it. It's perfectly normal for them to go back and forth. Children are masters at testing parents and he is most likely just testing his (and...

Re : thyroid peroxidase?

<t>Hi Jan,<br/> <br/> I actually have this and it took years before my actual T3/T4 levels went wacky. There is a new trend to start treating (with thyroid hormone) before the T3/T4 numbers go high/low, just to get the antibodies down. The anti-TPO is actually evident of 1 of 2 autoimmune disorders ...

I'm so sorry about your loss. Loss is just so difficult and unexplainable. You and your family will be in my prayers.

Re : My mom is dying and I am so sad...

<t>I agree that it is the right decision. With my grandfather, we were all around him and got to say everything we needed to say. It was a actually a very peaceful and beautiful experience. My grandmother died suddenly last year (she was perfectly fine the day before) and we have all had problems de...

Re : Still Recovering...

<t>That's sounds exactly like hypothyroidism to me! Your symptoms are classic! (weight loss, fatigue, headaches, dizziness, nausea, muscle weakness) You may want to find someone who really specializes in thyroid issues. Not necessarily an endocrinologist, but someone who is willing to treat "slightl...

Re : Hypothyroid/Hashimoto's/Graves???

Thanks ladies! My doc said that I would have to go up on thyroid meds and that most women need to double or triple. Also, now that I am hypo, I'm not sure if I could even get pregnant again. First try last time, but that was with hyperthyroidism.
