I love that song, and though I have never thought of it in preemie terms, it fits.

And two months, or two years, I don't think it matters. The experience is always close to you. Sara is almost two and I still randomly tear up thinking about it.

Don't these Phil Collin lyrics remind you of how small yet strong your preemie is, and how hard it was to leave her/him in the NICU every day, several times a day? It never got easier. Just reading these lyrics and thinking about it makes me get tears in my eyes. Even though she's been home for two months, the experience is still so close to my heart, and I feel so fiercely protective of her.
